Artist Statement

As a media major I am interested in representing what is in the world around us using new media technologies that enhance the impact of my stories on all audiences. New media is providing professionals and artists with many resources of expression. The implementation of such media helps me to experiment with existing media to develop new objects. The blend of such media also helps me mixing two or more elements and creating new material based on what already existed, originating new creations of existing objects. Lastly, the creative process becomes to me limitless and always open to change over time. One influence to my work is the Brazilian social documentary photographer Sebastiao Salgado, who has abandoned a career as an economist and pursued his dream of social photograph. One of his most remarkable works is Africa (2007), where he depicts the poverty of remote communities in this continent.
